We are all different! There are no two people the same. Therefore, why should we approach every haircut the same? Not everyone wants a short back and sides or a pompadour or a classic gents haircut or a traditional skin fade or a one length or a bob or a pixie cut. Not everyone suits those haircuts. Not everything is black or white, wrong or right.
I come from an artistic and musical background and there is nothing that excites me more than creativity - Do the new generation even know/understand what the punk movement was? Or heard of Vidal Sassoon? I hope most do - I'm not saying the look created here is pushing the boundaries of contemporary hair design or has not been done and perfected before. But it is embracing the spirit of punk and Sassoon (creativity) and this may be a look your clients will be asking for in 6-24 months time.
The person in the photo, I'm very lucky to have met. Every so often we have those clients/models that also embrace change and creativity (there's that word again) and don't want a traditional cut. They wouldn't suit a traditional haircut. They want something that is their own. Unique and personal. Suitable. The asymmetry, inversion and mix of hard and soft complements their personality and is a perfectly suited haircut. It's androgynous and doesn't conform to gender stereotypes.
We're not all the same. Embrace that. Embrace change or get left behind.
... rant over 😉❤️
